Videos are shared for 2 reasons

1. Because it’s identity forming – you want other people to know that you liked it and it becomes a medium for you to connect with another person. IT’s posted with your opinion attached and it’s sort of like the digital water cooler. How does it actually help you define your identity in relation to others.

2. remark-ability: is it bigger than whatever you’ve seen before?

When you share a cat video, for instance, it’s like both of the elements. I share it because i want you to know I like cats, and this is a cat doing something I’ve never seen a cat do before and now I want you to see it and possibly tell me what you think.

Our videos at Joyus are a very great example here.
