Vidyard’s Community Guidelines

Welcome to Vidyard, where our mission is to help businesses and professionals succeed through the power of video! You’re joining an exciting community that encourages creative expression. Regardless of how you decide to use Vidyard, we expect all users to adhere to respectable video practices. Joining Vidyard entails a level of trust and responsibility among all users. We want Vidyard to continue to be a platform for creative expression while maintaining a safe space for both viewers and users alike. In accordance with our Terms of Use, these guidelines function to encourage meaningful and authentic interactions.

At the end of the day, Vidyard is primarily intended for business use. If there is ever any question about a specific piece of content, Vidyard will always err on the side of caution and follow this guideline.

Pornographic or sexually explicit content

  • Vidyard will remove any content that physically or sexually exploits people. Any content that is pornographic in nature or provides viewers with a link to adult websites should not be uploaded to Vidyard. If this describes your video please do not use Vidyard.

    Content that contains graphic or gratuitous violence, or that encourages or glorifies drug use

  • Content that encourages others to commit acts of violence, encourages the use of illicit drugs, or is threatening should not be uploaded to Vidyard. Videos that are intended to be shocking or sensational, or that are gratuitously violent or gory are prohibited.

    Content that is predatory in nature or submitted for the purpose of harassment or bullying

  • Content that includes threats, hatred, harassment, intimidation, incites others to commit violent acts, or reveals an individual’s personal information without consent is taken very seriously. Do not upload videos that fall within this description to Vidyard.

    Repetitive and/or unwanted content including “spam” messages, or misleading information

  • Nobody likes to receive spam or false information. Take care to avoid misleading titles or descriptions in order to increase view count. Not only does this negatively affect your reputation, it’s also unacceptable to upload large amounts of unwanted or repetitive content. Any content that the user knows is false, misleading, or promotes conduct that is defamatory or libelous should not be uploaded to Vidyard.

    Content that promotes or incites racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm or conveys a message of hate against any individual or group

  • Vidyard does not support content that promotes or endorses violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, disability, gender, age, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation. Any content that has the purpose of inciting hatred on these core characteristics is strictly prohibited and will be removed from Vidyard.

    Content that promotes criminal activity

  • Any video or content that promotes criminal activity or provides instructions on how to carry out criminal activity is strictly prohibited. Not only will your account be disabled and the content removed, Vidyard has the discretion to share such information with appropriate legal authorities.

    Content that violates or attempts to violate privacy rights, intellectual property rights, contract rights or any other rights

  • Getting creative with videos is exciting but also comes with responsibility. All content that you upload needs to follow and respect copyright, privacy rights, and any other legal obligations. You shouldn’t upload videos that you didn’t make or use content (i.e. music, logos) that you don’t have the necessary rights to use.

Content that falls within the above categories is strictly prohibited and should not be uploaded to Vidyard. If we learn that you have uploaded any such content, we have the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including removing the offending content from your account, terminating or suspending your account, and reporting such content or activities to law enforcement authorities.

How to Flag or Report Content within these Guidelines

If you come across videos or content that falls within these prohibited categories, we encourage you to bring this to our attention. You can contact Vidyard at support@vidyard.com. We will investigate the complaint and respond accordingly.
