How Can I Add Video to My Email Signature?
At the time of this posting, most major email providers don’t support embedded video in your email signature.
However, there’s an easy way to get around that: You can add a video link to your email signature. Just create an alluring thumbnail in the form of an image or GIF. Use that image as a link anchor for your video. When the recipient clicks that thumbnail, they’ll be taken to the video URL.
This process works best when your image or GIF has a button or icon, such as a play button, that signals that it leads to a video. However, if you decide to use a GIF, keep in mind that some email clients don’t support them. Make sure the first frame of your GIF is image-worthy so that it still displays well in your email even if GIFs are a no-go.
One more thing: In order to use this method, you’ll need to host your video somewhere on the web. There are plenty of places you can do this, including YouTube, Vimeo, and Vidyard.
Pro Tip: If you use Vidyard, you’ll get a notification every time somebody watches the video in your signature, letting you follow up with your most engaged contacts).

How to Add Video to Email Signature in Gmail
- Click the gear icon in the top-right of your Gmail window
- Click See All Settings
- Scroll down to the Signature section
- Edit your current signature or click Create New
- Click the Insert Image icon under the text box
- Now you have the option to choose an image file from your Google Drive, upload an image, or paste in an image URL
- Click the inserted image to edit its size
- Highlight the image and click the Link icon
- Paste in the URL of your hosted video and click OK
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes
How to Add Video to Email Signature in Outlook
- Click the gear icon at the top-right, then View All Outlook Settings
- Click the Compose and Reply tab
- Click the Insert Pictures Inline icon and select an image to add
- Click the More Formatting Options icon, then the Insert Link icon
- Paste in your video URL and click OK
- Click Save
Adding Video to Email Signature in Apple Mail on Mac
Apple Mail doesn’t let you add links to images, so you’ll need a pre-generated HTML signature where the image is already set up with a link to your video page. You can use an HTML signature generator to create one, such as this one from HubSpot.
